Has anyone ever heard of using a 80mm MAS to stop pinging? Any help would be great.

The MAF primarily controls the air fuel ratio. On the other hand a contaminated MAF will cause a car to run extra lean and thus be more likely to ping. "Blower" calibrations of MAF's tend to run the car a bit richer than normal at higher air flow. Basicly, what I'm saying is unless the existing MAF is bad, no, just the diameter difference won't effect pinging.
