I have an 89 LX AOD running about 265RWHP.
other stuff : 4.10 gears, subframes,K-member brace, FMS springs, KYB struts/ shocks(the older, non-adjustable ones), LCA's, BFG Drags & polyurethane bushings for sway bars.

I realize my suspention is currently biased towards corner handling, and I would like to soften up the front and lower my 60fts WITHOUT sacrificing too much cornering ability.

Where should I start?? struts or springs??

I have a K-member now. It's an older one that I bought 6+ years ago. Are the newer ones that much better??

It sounds like you're suspension is pretty solid. People on this site have cut low 1.6 60 fts with stock suspension minus front sway bar. Some slicks or ET drags and a high stall converter will help your 60 fts out much more than a tubular K member or 90/10 struts would.

I have had this combo(including KYB's) for quite a while. My best 60' was 2.10, with-out heating tires (first time at track). If you feel this combo is worth 1.8's+ then I'll stick with it and just work on technique.

I was confused about the K-member... I have a G-FORCE brace. Not popular now... but considered cool 6+ years ago when I started the mod's. I think I'll take it out.

How driveable is the car w/out the front swaybar?? I's handling completely lost??

Also, is there a strut that adjusts froms street to track(stiff to ultra-soft)?? Thanks for the info!

I defiantly noticed a difference when I removed the front sway-bar. It's certainly not a corner-carver anymore(not that it ever really was anyway) But it does help at the drag strip

If you're only cutting 2.X's with drag radials, then chances are you just need more practice.

Driving with out a sway bar is very streetable IF you know what the limits of the car are. I've driven 150+ miles to and from the track with out a front sway bar and on drag radials with no problems.

He now gets to change it to people ON THIS SITE have cut 1.5 60 foots with stock suspension and front sway bar and slicks.

Big Matt joined awhile ago and he did. I watched him and he has the timeslip to prove it.

OK, I think I will hold off on buying more stuff and just hit the track next week. I'll post some times and see where I get from there.

This will be my first time out with my BFG's. (255/50/16 Drag). Where do I start my psi?? 18lbs?

Also, I do have a converter. It's a 10" 2900 stall Lentech.

Here are my stats from last run, when I had 3.73's . Now, I run 4.10's:

I1---2.107
I2---5.65
I3---8.56
MPH(I3)-84.11
I4---11.08
E.T---13.219
MPH---104.573

Nice. I've seen GOROBGO cut a 1.58 or so on 8.5inch slicks with his SPOUT connector in his pocket.... BUT he had lakewood slappers on, so he didn't count. Who's to say the Lakewood's helped much. TheBrain was well on his way to 1.5's with the stock stuff... until disaster after disaster struck [Frown]

Tyrant89-Sounds like a plan. Try heating up your tires more, dropping tire pressure, ect. There is plenty of 60 ft left from driving alone. Keep in mind that everyone is assuming that your trac-lock isn't worn [Smile]
