Topic: My t-5 grinds on 2nd only when u shift slow what could it be ???

And when u shift super fast it dt grind at all if its a bad second gear or syncros how much I'm i looking at just for that or does anyone on here works on them.

I heard when gears start grinding the tranny is on its way out. But I don't know every tranny I had has been SOLID.

u dont need alot of horse power to f*** a t5 up i have pics of mine and i was just daily driving it smashing every now and then

I had the same issues wit my 3rd gear I almost had to power shift to so it won't grind.
Your 2nd gear synchros are going out sooner or later you won't even be able to shift into 2nd gear.
Rebuild kits cost $250

just keep beating up the trans until it goes. its the blocker rings that wear.

your second year syncronizer and fiber type blocking ring needs to be replaced and possibly the syncronizer sleeve. The whole tranny should be fine

But granny shops want to charge me 750 to rebuild the whole thing and I only want to get that lil problem fixed so no one here could work on T-5s???

My did the same thing i just slap on a rebilt one for 800 bucks with one year waranty at transmission parts and core in hayward.

With 800 I could just put 200 more and buy a used 3550 and hope i get lucky lol
