Where can I get the longer speedometer cable and extensions. Should be one for the reverse light and the other one for the VSS.

I dont have my paperwork here, but I believe the speedo cable is for a ford truck, the electrical connections I just spliced and soldered the required lengths for the reverse lights and VSS signal.
Unless you strong arm the reverse lockout, you will need to figure out a way to activate the lockout solenoid. Some people tie it in with the brake lamps but that leaves the possibilty of hitting the reverse gear. I used a timer circuit with a 10sec delay.

For the reverse lock out you can go about that a few ways. Leave it and you can force the shifter past the solenoid. There is a guy on Corral that makes a replacement spring for about $20. You replace the spring in the solenoid nothing else to do. Or you can make a timing circuit like I did, you can also pick one up here from Mark Olson
I would not suggest hooking up to the brake lights like some folks have done. The Reverse lockout is there for a reason. [ 2013-04-04, 05:16 PM: Message edited by: RAP66 ]

I got mine from a F series ford truck (late 80's/early 90's) had the correct ends on both sides of the cable, was like 71"-80". if you go to one of the auto part sites, they show both ends and give the length.
what I did for the reverse lockout, i grabbed a left side cluster switch from a GT with the fog lights (I think that is what the lower side of the headlight switch controls on that version of it)
anyways I wired that to activate the solenoid for the reverse lockout. [ December 18, 2012, 06:57 PM: Message edited by: 68stanger ]

Thanks for the help guys. I will just extend the two connections, get a speedometer cable from a 92 f150, and get the modified spring from the guy on the corral.

I will have to check, but if memory serves me,the reverse lockout solenoid connector is the same as several connectors on later model Camaros for things like foglights and horns. Ive got the Viper spec T56 in my 82 and am pretty sure that was the connector I used when I did it.

I dont have the reverse lockout on my t56, and i can put it in reverse every single time without problems. It sucked the first couple times, until i learned my own way. Now its cake i never even notice it.
