Trying to figure out what brand of spark plug to run on my stock 95 mustang 5.0 and what to set the gap to.

8x autolite 25's, factory gap is .054

id gap at .046"
the car is 20 yrs old, and will probably run better with hotter spark...albeit a smaller gap
im just saying try it....it'll work trust me

platinum last long time but dont produce as good a spark as plain old copper, copper wear-out faster copper better cheaper and more HP

i would gap them at 35 my car runs best when gapped at 35

Is there really a noticable difference between gapping them at .046 compared to .054

there can be...drastic too
if it runs fine at .054" (and you might not know it runs fine til you regap to .046" and run both gaps at the track and compare MPH) then leave it
but im on my 6th 5.0 since 1990 and always run .046" after having some spark related issues in the late 90's
i also spray...so i need the smaller gap anyways...but even if i didnt...id gap that way

you spray on .046 and no det problems? what do you drop your timing down to and what shot?

nope none....and i use stock heat range for 0-100 shot
i usually jet at 80 dry, timing at 12* and 87 octane as long as its under 80* at 80* or warmer i drop about 2* for every 10 of temp
then i drop timing but dont change octane or plugs/plug gap
i once sprayed 75 on 14* and 87 octane and it was warm out...but it was night time so maybe a little better air. i wouldnt really do it again on purpose...but the car ran well
