hi guys got a problem with spec stage 3 clutch on my 99 cobra just wondering if any body had same problem like me before. so i upgraded my clutch from stock to spec stage 3 the first time i got the clutch in and i could not get get the car in gear so i went and bought a new ford racing adustable clutch cable and quadrant by adjusting the cable max where my clutch fork was almost hitting the transmission i was able to change gears but were still kind little hard to shift and i had hard time pressing the padle in cuz it was stiff right now is at the point i can't even go in any gear i have about 600 miles on the clutch, when i did the cluch i also replaced pilot bearing and throwout bearing and also used new stock flywheel. any idea what is casuing this problem cuz when i had my stock clutch i never had any shifting problem ?? thanks.

with the engine off you should be able to shift gears without clutch if you cant you have a problem with shift linkage clutch disengages the load then syncros slow down and allow gear change if tou were having shifting problems before or now maybe your tranny needs to be rebuilt [ May 21, 2012, 03:25 PM: Message edited by: triple b ]

Sounds like a collapsed pressure plate to me. Does your clutch feel spongy or does it have a recoil feel?

If it is in fact a collapsed pressure plate, take it out, send it back to Spec and have them send u a new one. Id also recommend an OEM throwout bearing and pilot bearing. I've heard some bad things about Spec TOBs
