What is a good heater core for a foxbody? I always buy the ones from Kragen. The aluminum one. It just went out on me and i dont know if i should just buy another one from kragen. The OEM Ford brass heater core is around 140 bucks!!

I had one hell of a time finding a copper one I bought two online that specficaly said thay were copper and both showed up aluminum both copper and the aluminum share the same part number two local radiator shops quoted me 160+ to have mine recored side by side the copper one is bigger and there is no need to retro fit it unlike the aluminum one i tryed the aluminum one and my suit case leaked air out all over the place

Put a factory core in it and look at your coolant. The reason they generally fail, is condition of coolant.

ford OE only.
I also only use distilled water with my coolant mix, tap/hose water is killer on the cooling system.

Try J&K mustang in saramento....thats where i got mine and i think they ship. Dont forget to put the reducer in the the hose too because the pressure has been know to cause the failure.

By restricting the flow into your heatercore, you're putting more stress on your high flow-water pump.

OMG whats easier to replace a water pump or heater core?!?!?! btw more stress on the pump? yeah i see that arguement but guess what its a high flow pump thus engineered to take on more stress

Why not TRY to prevent another problem from happening when you can? You defeat the purpose of what the pump was designed to do. It wasn't designed to be restricted. Thanks hidnn.o.s. Still holding-up since '07
