Depending on how your reciprocating assembly is balanced will make a diffference too. Typically, a stock balancer is 28oz imbalance. When going to a stroker kit that has NOT been neutral or zero balanced, you need a 50oz imbalance.
Also, a lot of the balancers out there need to be honed to fit your crank snout - keep this in mind. My ATI was like this.

Hmm I hear different on 347" from each machine shops I've visited always told me my blown347" needed a 28oz fly wheel and balancer

^he got it backwards....but actually coast high performance does balance at 50oz but they recommend against it look at the website for the rational but yeah you need to really find out who but it and balanced it

The rule of thumb i go by is (but there are some exceptions) most cast stroker cranks are going to be a 28oz ecxept stock cranks most of your 5.0 cranks are a 50 oz balance and older 302s and 289s are a 28oz imbalance, most 4340 forged cranks are going to be an internal balance aka neutral or 0 balance. Maybe that may help. [ February 25, 2012, 03:49 AM: Message edited by: 86foureyefifty ]
