I just replaced my stock ones with bbk's, but i kept the stock bushing thats attached to the axle...is that vital to change out? and it seems like a pain in the ass to remove

If the bushing is cracked and stretched i would change it. The MM bushing tool and WD-40 makes it a LOT easier to change

anything stiffer than the stock control arms and stock rubber bushings on the uppers does nothing but make the car handle worse in the rear...unless you're building a straight line only car.

ok, so the ford one would be the one then? getting different opinions on prothane and rubber...for everyday driving, no swangin, no track...i guess the rubber ford OE bushings will suffice

For everyday driving yes you would want the ford rubber bushings, they hold up just fine
Poly bushings are too stiff and dont allow the rear end to articulate the way it was designed to do, and causes suspension bind [ February 07, 2012, 04:54 PM: Message edited by: SydewayzStan ]

Sphericals are the only way to eliminate the binding, even with stock rubber they bind and preload the suspension. i would shop for better quality than upr if there prone to failure. i ran them on my coupe and they get the job done right with hardly anymore road noise.

fuck that tool. get out a torch and that will help you get the stock bushings out. then clean the hole up nice with a scotch brite pad, get you some grease( the clear stuff that comes with pro-thane/energy stuff will work) get your self a couple of nice bolts and big ass thick washers and make your own press been doing it that way for over 10 years no problem. anything that is attached in the car I've never had an issue doing it. the key is lots of grease and really do a good job cleaning the hole. the excess grease can be wiped off afterwards.

id rather try that MM tool actually, sounds easier...how about using lok tite on the bolts and as far as greasing the bushings, wheel bearing grease okay to use (red one)? [ February 09, 2012, 01:19 PM: Message edited by: fredfifty ]
