When I got this car it had burnt wires and nasty plugs no Maf. I changed them all and oil in 88 arnt these speed density? Yet it has maf. It had a SD comp in it. I switched to a9l and feels a bit better driving. Also map sesnsor which made a check oil light come on. And drive bad. I can't drop the car @ 2k or it falls on her face. Mods are full exhaust with dumps 2 high flow cats. On the freeway u feel it most when on the car and @ wot I smell like burnt oil almost coolant. . Any input please call 510 396 9744

If it's a California car then yes it came with mass air from the factory.

Thing is looked like some 1 sliced the wires on the maf sesnsor. And on the comp side there's no splicing. Yet. It had a sd map on it and a sd comp?

In '88 the MAF's had a square plug, '89-'93 had the oval MAF connector. They could have cut it off to splice an oval plug on it. For some reason it could have gotten converted to speed density. Is there a vacuum line running to the MAP sensor?

At the moment no If I run that vacum line to it. It runs the check oil light and runs shitty. I was just reading someone elses post and seen maybe a valve cover leak? Idle isn't reving like a vacum leak . But that smell makes me think to much air is getting in causin it to read as if it needs more fuel hense my smell of fumes and oil etc. I did a compression test and had 2 cylinders higher then the rest. @ about 155+ rest werre around 130ish

The speed density cars have a vacuum line that goes to the MAP. I would put a mass air meter on it, with a mass air ECU, and have no vacuum line running to the MAP. Then see how it runs. Your compressions seems good too.
