01 gt.

my clutch cable broke one time a short tiem after i got it, i got a new one and no more than six months it just snapped on me tonight,

im getting VERY tired of this crap.
i heard a ground strap could cause it to break??? that sounds like bull and i have my ground on my hood hooked up.

i have one of those aluminum firewall adjusters and quadrant with 3 hook positions at the pedal.

you might have it to tight with the adjuster and what brand did you replace your old one with oem or aftermarket?

Just get a stock replacement and cut off the self adjuster. Did that on my buddies 03 cobra and no issues. Loosen the cable just enough so that there is no tension on the cable whatsoever while your foot is off the clutch or else you will have premature wear and it will snap quicker. If there is tension, then the cable will stretch and never get a chance to relax..

this happened to me on an 03 cobra with the stage 3+ spec clutch, after two cables I found out that the quadrant wasnt alighned right, the plastic washer that come with it are actually needed. But on my 89 lx i dont have them and I have no problems with it. something you might want to check on your quadrant.

Sounds like the quadrant is fucked, replace that shit.

I bet there is a sharp right angle in the quadrant right where it is snapping. Get a dremel or something along those lines and get rid of any angles around the cable and round em off a bit.

Is your clutch overly stiff? Possible bad bearing retainer and your throw out bearing is getting hung up on it causing too much stress on your cable.
