Any one have any experience/input on the 170cc trickflow fast as cast heads? I'm looking to to ditch the e7s on my fox. Or what heads you guys suggest? It'll be going on a stock block 302 fox with fcam, systemax with a ponydown t70 turbo kit.

Well, I made 650HP with a T70 Turbo with TFS 170 heads with upgraded valve springs, no port work and a stock cam and ran a 9.75@142. I also have a T70 turbo setup on another Mustang with GT40 irons heads, E303 cam and 11lbs of boost made 580HP. TFS heads are great heads, I like them a lot better the AFRs. I don't know how much HP you are trying to make but you can still make great power with stock heads with a T70 turbo and you don't need to change the stock cam. If you are trying more than 12lbs of boost with a T70 then I would say you will need to change to a set of aluminum heads. Your stock block is only good for 450HP, after that level you have a great chance on breaking the block. But if you don't care about breaking the block, then use F303 cam, TFS heads, Holley Systemax combo, and 50lb injectors, which the best combo for a T70 turbo setup, and with 14lbs of boost, C16 race gas, timing locked at 22-24 degrees, no tune, and 3:27 or 3:55 gears would make an easy low 10 second car all day long.

I'm set on some tw heads but don't know much on which cc to go with. The block ain't a problem, boost it till it goes [Big Grin] . I already have a holley systemax and a fcam but with 42 pound injectors. I currently have 3:27gears through a built/stalled c4. Pretty much complete msd ignition(btm/6al box). Id like to get it anywhere in the 10s.

You can go 10s easy, 170s worked for me into the 9s. But don't forget to get upgrade your valve springs. Also don't run bigger than 26" tires with 3:27 gears, your C4 won't like that. Also don't run exhaust after the Downpipe, you will make more power that way.

AED and Jeff s, worked for me when my combo was close to yours, and should have no problem doing it. I wouldn't worry too much about it, your combo has been done many times, even without a chip, just with a air/fuel meter and locking the distributor at 24 degrees with C16. I dont know Nate, so if Nate is close to you and you want a chipped tune, then go for it.

Lee what would be a good spring to upgrade on the tfs 170s, looking into buying some also hopefully soon, i see trickflow has an upgrade so im just wondering if maybe you have a personal preference...thanks... [patriot]

Be careful how much stall u have in ur converter with tall tires and 327 gears u don't want to be on the converter all the time.

And nate will easily handle all your tunin needs.

Ed curtis makes drop in kits if u have cam specs and target boost

It stalls right around 3500. I got another valve body with a t-brake. I was thinking of getting another cam since ill be doing the heads.

I got some springs if interested, they were off of my trick flows and upgraded. Not many miles, and will hold any alphabet cam. Lighter and smaller lsx style spring.
