Alright. i removed my power steering system and went manual. now after i removed everything i find out that the steering shaft is a lot bigger diameter than the new shaft on the manual rack. IS IT A MUST TO BUY THE SOLID SHAFT, or can i try to get a differnt shaft/rag style?

Blind..... where u at

Well, there was an adapter fitting so you could use a stock shaft, I had one many years ago, if they make them still. Otherwise you will have to use an aftermarket shaft, use a Maxium Motorsport one, the Flaming River one comes loose a lot.

when I used to run manual steering with a flaming river rack, I ran this one -
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=514_3_14&products_id=459

because I didn't feel comfortable with how the flaming river steering shaft installed to me.

the MM one is quite beefy, and while expensive, I can't put a price on being able to control the steering wheel of the car I'm driving...
