pretty straight forward. just make it easy on your self and have the tank as empty as possible. also have a new filler tube o ring handy those always rip

Build yourself a cheap, down 'n dirty gas tank cradle. 20 minutes of your time and some scrap lumber. You won't believe the difference this thing makes! Removal is cake and installation is just as easy! I've dropped several tanks and never had a problem with the filler tube gromment. Douse it liberally with WD-40 on removal, clean it up thoroughly, douse it again with WD-40 on installation and be very careful when inserting the filler tube. You'll be fine.
