if u have been reading my other post about the tfi problem i finally got it to run but now im trying to set that actual timing with a timing gun. when i put the pial on the gun to zero i adjusted it to ten degress btc and it idleing at damm near 2000. am i suppost to set the dial to ten degress on the gun the adjust the dist?

make sure you unplug this when your doing the timing

you pull the spout connector out, on a fox its by the distributer on a sn95 its by the maf, no if you have an ajustable timing light you either wanna put the dial at 0* and set the timing at 10-14* or set the dial at what you want the timing to be and set it to 0*

when i tried what u said it and what happened was it went to way before 0 btc it went to 10 atc n when i try to adjust it toward 0 btc it idles really high. the dist it turned to the left alot almost smackin theintake coolnt spout. do i need to take the dist. out and move a coulpe teeth over? doesnt come close to the one in the pic. my tfi is all the way over to the left

the best thing you could do at this point is pull the dist, bring the engine to top dead center and start over. basicly start fresh and then go from their

i just did that yesterday and got it runing. is there any one in the area i can bring my car to so they can set the timing? any shops or anything like that????????

this the best way for you to do it you are a couple teeth out

aight well i pluged the spout back in and its at ten btc and runs good . it idles at like 1100 to 1300 rpm but i just drove it and it runs good no pining hear some ticks n what not but no backfiring or anything like that.
