Topic: 255/50/16 Mickey Thompson E/T Streets - Question

I have an '01 GT, automatic, best time is 13.8. I'm thinking about buying some 255/50/16 Mickeys but I've heard that they might slow me down because they're taller than my current tires, which are 245/45/17. Anybody know if these would make me go faster/slower?

If traction is a problem for you then ya they will help. Be carefull though the side walls role under and can make you get a little squirly. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

he should be good with the mickeys, not as soft as a side wall as the hoosiers, now those can get squirlyy

yeah forsure you need em, each tenth you drop in your 60ft is 2 tenths in the quarter...sooo if you get a 1.9 60 youll run around a 13.6...Best mod you could get IMHO no point of adding power before you get tires..
