Topic: widest rims can i use on stock rearend

whats the widest size rims you can use for the stock rear-end? trying to go with 17" rims, but thing is i found 17x10 in the back and 17x9 in the front. front im not to worried about but the back im having doubts. the car is a 89 coupe lowered..not sure how much but what are some issues on running by 10"? will it rub or what can i do? thanks you guys

Thanks 50reasons. Oh and another thing I forgot..how about tire size to fit the 17x10 without any rubbing or wearing tires out issues? 285, 295, 305, 315??

The wheel offset is going to make a difference also...
17x10 will be fine. But u might have 2 throw on a 275 tire. A 285 should be ok but different brand tires of the same size tend to fit the rim differently. If ur gonna run a 285 then don't get a michelin or a goodyear tire since they tend to fit wider than a BF goodrich (maybe), Sumitomo or Nitto of the same size.
