Ok so I'm bak with another ideling issue, the fuel pressure and timing were off las time I check, this time I had airformance check it out and the fuel pressure was 36psi and he reset the timing again. Ran great for the last week or so. Now the car idels fine when cold but once you drive for a bit it pulses and starts to studder and miss along with cutting off. Somebody told me it could be a intake gasket leak...please qwue in on this, tryin to get my car right b4 june 26th for a bayarea ride out.
Thanks

I have had this problem just recently and to be completely honest its hard to pin point what my problem was considering I replaced so many parts. If I was you, look up my recent posts on losing power and see if you can get any ideas from it. Or give us alittle more info and I will do my best to give you some ideas.

All you need is a volt meter.

Shouldn't. Also when my car was doing this I had a bad spark plug wire or wires. They were brand new wires with only a few miles on them and the heat from my headers got a hold of them.

unplug your IAC back th throttle screww all the way out till it doesnt touch the throttle plate you might need 2 people to do this now loosen up your tps sensor.......now adjust it till the volts on the tps says 0.98 (probe the green wire with the pos. wire from the voltmeter and then just ground the black wire on avoltmeter on a bolt or somthing) try and get it to read 0.95-0.98 personally i think that those numbers work best if you cant get them to read that cause it wont turn far enough then you have to file out the screw holes on the TPS for more movement.........when thats finished start the car and keep it running with the gas pedal.....while the other person adjust the idle screw until it hold the lowest possible maybe like 750-850 ,once that is achived then plug in the IAC you should idle fine if not then you need a IAC adjustment plate its like $40 from 5.0 resto order it it will help you idle alot smoother let me know if it works ![[Wink]](wink.gif) [ June 19, 2009, 06:17 PM: Message edited by: 2SIK GT ]

The posting I read easrlier said to do this with the engine off as far as adjusting the tps, but the idle air controlve valve has to be set with the engine running for the curb idle rite? Also have it unplugged for the tps idle?

set it when the key is on ingnition off and then leave the IAC unplugged then start the car it might not start cause of idle so adjust idle screw till car idles as low as possible but smooth then plug in the IAC

First thing to do is check for engine codes. Next I would follow some of the previous advice to reset the idle.
If you haven't done a tune up (ie plugs, fuel filter, dist cap, etc) I would do that first. Also, check your plug wires to make sure they are in good shape and not burned.
Those are the simple and cheap things to check.
