Speedo gear is on the end of the speedo cable. Remove the retaining bolt, pull the end out of the transmission tailshaft, remove the clip on the small gear and reverse for the install. You should need a either a red 21-tooth or a white 23-tooth, depending on your tire size.

ya its amazing haha ive already beat a couple cars i knew i wouldnt stand a chance agaisnt if i had my old gears [Big Grin]

but i have a bad rear axle seal on the drivers side. so right now its leaking axle fluid outta the drum. and it hops and shakes when i take turns. so im just gonna see how it goes and when i put the new axle seal in im gonna put in some more posi additive and add the same 80w90 lucas oil gear fluid and see how it feels

Sounds good man, after switching to a 9,ill never go back to an 8-inch unless its a stocker. Yeah that seal is pretty easy to replace only takes about an hour, maybe 2 if youre takin your union breaks [Big Grin]

You know to be honest, ive always hammered a screwdriver into it(very carefully) and pryed it out, then just tap the new one in with a socket. There is an actual tool to remove it and install the new one they sell them at kragen, but sometimes you gotta work with what you got ya know [patriot]

Was the socket big enough to cover the outer diameter of the seal?I usually put a little dab of silicone on the outer lip of the seal just to make it slide in a little easier.
