how would your car react if there is vac leaks? and how would your car feel if a valve was not firing correctly?

Vac leaks cause high idle if it's a small one and won't run very well if it's a large one. As for the valve, it doesn't fire...it closes the cylinder off during the combustion process. If it isn't closing/seating correctly, you may have a dead cylinder.

you haven't really described your problem. based on what jonh b said you may have a stuck valve or some vacuum leaks? whats the car doing that bothers you?

anytime i push my car pass 4500 rpms it seems to skip as i pick up and backfiring at the same time and its really bothering me and there are times when i would disengage the clutch and go into my next gear or maybe neutral and my car would completely stop
