Looking for any advice on catback's. I already have longtubes 1 5/8 and an off road H pipe & figure it is time to ditch the stock catback at My current power level "see sig" . I have heard that stainless is the way to go on LX's to avoid flaking, discoloration, ext.. I don't want it to be too loud because I already have a vortech whining under the hood. I have magnaflow's on now and am pleased with the sound which is why I was considering going with them again. LMK about Your experience with aftermarket catback's. I did'nt notice a special part # for LX so I am not even sure this is the specific kit for My car ?

If you already have magnaflow mufflers, why not just purchase a set of 2 1/2" tailpipes & have a muffler shop make you some flow tubes & weld it up??? personally, I think that the stock style tailpipes like Flowmaster & dynomax look the best on LX's since the full tailpipe is exposed & they come with the tips that are polished to all the way behind the tire just like stock, but they are 2 1/2"....
I cant stand the weld on tips on LX's, but thats just my personal preference & i think thats what comes in the Magnaflow kit. Dont get me wrong though, Magnaflow catbacks are excellent quality & any 2 1/2" system will most definitely benefit your application.... [ September 22, 2008, 07:01 PM: Message edited by: EPIK ]

Would'nt they have put 2 1/4 inch muffler's into a stock 2 1/4 inch catback ? I definatley dont want any wierd looking tip's on the tail pipes. Anyone have any recommendation's for a great looking & sounding 2 1/2 inch exhaust for a coupe?

Alot of Muffler shops weld in 2 1/2" mufflers into 2 1/4" catbacks. even if they are 2 1/4", they can expand the inlet & outlet. The inside of the muffler is exactly the same from 2 1/4"- 2 1/2"...
Dynomax catbacks have the nice clean looking tailpipes & they flow & sound good too....

I have the MAC catback. The tailpipes are 2 1/2 inch and are chromed all the way up to the flange over the rearend. I like the way it sounds, but I think a straight through muffler like the Magnaflows are better for performance than the chambered mufflers. Get the MAC pipes and weld in some Magnaflows. I also can't stand seeing tips welded on the LX Pipes!
