Car starts and can stay idled, but when you rev or try and drive it there not much power and it doesn't sound like a mustang should, I also had 2 put the dist back in because that's the way bought the car,
What can the problems be?
Timing? Injectors? Maf? Fuel filter?

I believe the timing is ok, I brought it to dead top 0 and line the rotor to 1, and the mass air is ok, what else can the problem be? When u gas its kinda ruff, but no check engine lites or anything

One other thing you could try is pulling one plug wire off at a time and see if it runs the same or worse. If it runs the same you could have some sort of problem on that cylinder.

I'm going 2 check the injectors and dist next, if that doesn't fix the problem I'm pretty sure its a cylinder problem

"so u brung number one cyl. to top dead center by taking the plug out an then dropped the dizzy in to where the rotor lines up with #1 on cap?"
U have to bring the #1 Piston all the way to the top. Take the spark plug off and crank it till where the piston is at the end of the top stroke(on top). Then after dropp the distrubutor where the rotor points/lines up to the #1 on the cap. Put the spark plug back in and everything else back in its place and try starting her. I had the same issue a while back.... [ June 04, 2008, 03:08 PM: Message edited by: Pepsi50 ]

yup i think he needs to do it this way instead of off the harmonic ballancer. i know it might of worked before on other times but this is a for sure way to find tdc. or spin crank by hand to zero an take the #1 plug out u shouldnt be able to stick a small screwdriver in there being the piston is up top.. good luck

Ok I'm going to check it out and also check the timing again, could it also be a bad injector for the missing? Vacum leak? Dist? Mass air?
