I am currently in the process of converting my 91 GT to a 93 Cobra clone. I am using all OEM parts. I want to make this install as clean and as close to a 93 cobra as I can.

1st Question:
Do these 2 square brackets need to be removed all together or does they need to be shortened vertically?

 -

2nd Question:
After examining the 93 cobra rear bumper I noticed that it has small studs on the sides as well so that it can bolt up to the sides of the rear, something that the GT 3-piece bumper did not have since the rear bumper extensions just slid into that metal clip and were secured by 2 screws behind the rear tires. Now notice how the 93 cobra bumper side studs are on their own type of clip as if the bumper bolted in and also clipped in. My question is do these metal clips on the body need to be removed to bolt up the cobra rear bumper side studs or they need to be modified so that the side of the bumper can clip in and also bolt in? ........I wonder if anyone sells these rear body clips for a 93 cobra? [Confused]

3rd Question:
The bottom part of the bumper has some holes that look they were used to connect it flush to the body, was there a special bracket that the 93 cobras had to bolt to?

I took a pic of the up side down, so the holes that I am referring to are at the top of the pics.

dude....remove the side bracket on the car. the studs on the side of the cobra bumper should slip into the holes on the side of the body.

cut the brackets on the bottom of the bumper reinforcement out. they interefere with the cobra bumper as the bottom of the bumper sits higher. not sure if this is the case with a oem bumper but on my cervinis i had to do this.

as far mounting the back of the bumper, ull need to transfer the metal strip from ur existing cobra rear bumper to the cobra bumper. not sure if the studs will align with the holes on ur cobra bumper. in that case u may need to trim holes on the cobra. i believe the strips vary by year. the one i used was from an LX. It fit perfectly from what i remember.

Thanks Alex.

I think the metal strip you're referring to is the one that sits under the top of the bumper, if so I have that piece. Notice the holes on the lower part of the bumper that goes under the car. I'm wondering where these holes mount to?

yeah man.. you just reuse all the bracket from the OEM to the cobra bumper. The bracket in your #2 picture and the "studs" on the bumper are the same thing. Unbolt it from the car, your going to have to remove a couple of the panels screws in the HB to access the bolts.

As for the lower holes the cobra has a bracket, where those holes bolt up to, sort of like the 2 brackets your going to take off. I was going to buy one on ebay but didn't want to shell out another $150 for it.

My holes for the screws behind the wheels didnt line up so I had to drill new ones.
