It WILL run, but when you hit 5000rpm look in your rear view mirror and tell me what you see.

i ran almost the same thing. didn't tune it, but had 30lb injectors in it and 91 octane only 12psi. loved it, and it ran hard for about a couple weeks before the gaskets blew.

why? that wouldn't even be fun. if you want to blow it up, throw a 150 shot on it instead so you can enjoy it a little

That's not too far off from the first setup I had on my 93 cobra, which blew a head gasket at the track. But that was racing. I ran that combo on the street for something like 50,000 miles.

I don't see that point. Why go through all that troule of installing the blower setup just so that you can blow up the motor and then tear everything off again to rebuild it.
If you want to run that much boost a better plan would be to get another block, build another motor that can handle the power, and then put the whole thing together the right way.
If you just want to slap the blower on your 150k motor then run 6-8lbs of boost and call it good.

Some guys don't care about blowing up their old motor, especially if they are planning on building a new one anyway. That was true for me, I figured if I was going to replace it anyway, why not have some fun and run it into the ground? There's no real risk to anything else besides the shortblock. Especially if we are mainly talking about head gasket failure.
Besides, a blown motor gives you a great excuse to tell the wife why you need to spend money on a new one...

Very true. However, it just seems like a lot of wasted time to get a blower setup running on an old motor, drive it for a couple of hours (days if you are lucky) to see it blow, tow your car back home, tear the whole thing apart, and then put it all back together the right way. Not to mention that your car will be down this whole time and you won't be able to drive it.
I don't have one of those wifey things so the only person I would need to convince is myself

I thought you were being sarcastic when you posted this without mentioning an FMU or BTM.
If you FMU it up and use a BTM it will last for awhile as long as you dont abuse it too bad.

Well just how strong is your stock longblock running? There are plenty of folks running high 10s and low 11s with a stock longblock and power adders.
When you first posted I thought you were going to run it without an FMU or BTM and those 24s as you did not mention the FMU or BTM in your post.
There are ALOT of people on here that just dont sit and read magazines, but have actual experience with setups so dont bash us too hard..... [ September 12, 2007, 02:01 PM: Message edited by: turbo50 ]
