I am removing my timing cover and I need to take out the main nut (in front of crank i believe) thats in the middile of the pulley I was wondering if that was a reverse threaded nut or not? I tried to use a air gun on it today but mine maxed out at 90 psi, Yea didn't work... So I'm going to use a breaker bar tomorrow just making sure I tried to look it up in my helms but got couldn't find and had to leave the house.

Thanks

is the motor in the car still?

if so, put your breaker bar on it and wedge it against the frame rail and bump the starter with the coil disconnected and the car out of gear, it will break the bolt loose [Smile]

I figured it was a regular nut but my dad kept insisting it may be reverse. And no the engines on a stand, thats why it's going to be so much fun to get it off. Also does anyone know the name of the nut?

I just put a 3/4 socket on a 3/8 ratchet and held it on a flexplate bolt and against engine stand with breaker bar on the nut (which ended up being a bolt) and she broke easy. All I have to do is rent a balancer puller from autozone and a tool to put it back on. Thanks for your replies

you can use the puller to obviously pull it, but when you install it back on, you can put the balancer back on the crank and rubber mallet it on as much as you can, then just put the balancer bolt back on and you can install it that way, just lube the crank before you put the balancer back on

Yeah I might do that but since I get the money back when I return the tools I might as well try it out. If I have problems using the tool to put it on I'll just man up with that rubber mallet!
