i have a 92 lx 5.0 that im changing the tranny, but when i pulled it off i found out that there is some sort of plug going into the top of it and the tranny i got out of a 93 gt does not have the plug on the top of it. also i had a lot play in the clutch fork before i pulled it off.what could have been the cause of that?

Don't worry about the plug.

As for the clutch fork play, check the spring fingers on the end of the fork, the throwout bearing, and the pressure plate for damage.
