I have a complicated one for ya...I have a 1991 Mustang 5.0
and I was adding a 6AL box to my ignition...I hooked it up wrong and it
fried the accel coil that was installed at the time. I thought no big
deal and went to Kragen and bought a MSD Blaster Coil 8227. I removed
the 6AL box and wiring completely and hooked up the blaster coil. My car
now has no spark and doesnt get fuel at all. I checked all of the
connections right by the coil and inspected all of the wires(eventhough
they were inside of plastic loom with tape all around them)and they are
all fine. I also replaced the fuel relay, changed all of the fuses in my
fuse box, had the ICM tested and it passed, checked my inertia switch,
and the list goes on. I noticed that I am now only getting .3 volts
reading at the connector for the coil...I know it should be about 10 or
more volts...any ideas?

I also checked the volts at the inertia switch and it reads a little under 3 volts. I have seen people saying something about an eec relay, but I cant find it...the most common location stated was right by the computer...all I have found there is the horn relay.

Ive been working on this since early yesterday morning and am just about out of ideas...any help will be greatly appreciated.

All of the fuses in the fuse box under the driver side dash were changed yesterday...and I have made sure to check them several times since then just to make sure.

I'm currently trying to check all of the fusible links...i checked power at the computer and im getting 0 volts at the computer.

I'm trying to find the EEC relay, and mostly everyone says its right by the computer, but all i see is the horn relay which was mounted right to the top of the computer bracket

If it's not a fusable link, you may have fried the ignition switch. It may still turn over but not have power going to the computer and so on.

I was looking at the wrong year wiring diagram...my computer does get power...and i bought a fuel pump relay from ford, but it doesnt seem to work because when i pulled it off and jumped a wire the fuel pump kicked right on.

I'm going to go buy the ignition swtich and hope its the problem. Thank You

Are you sure you have the wires on the solenoid correct, if you removed them at some point?

I never had to mess with any of the wires on the solenoid at all...and the car ran perfectly fine before the MSD incident

I would like to check the fusible links...the diagram shows four, but it doesnt tell me where they start and where they end as it relates to the body of the mustang...anyone know where all of the fusible links are like where they start and where they end?

Change your ignition module and be ready to change your computer. If the three fusable links off the harness on the driver's side are good, you cooked the computer.

I still need to check the fusible links...i was working on this car all day and needed a break, so tomorrow I'll be back at it

I had the TFI module tested many times at Autozone already and it passes every time. The inertia switch has no been tripped I have checked that many times as well.

How would I know if the solenoid is bad? It lets power through it, so I figured it was still good...it also lets the engine crank when I turn the key. I tested all of the links right after the solenoid and they all get power right there.

try running codes with KOEO and see if anything comes up. when i had a no spark condition on my 94cobra it ended up being both the tfi module and coil pickup in the distributor that were bad.

Alright...yesterday my brother came over so we could both get into this car and start checking stuff. My brother also has a 5.0, so we took my distributor out of my car and put it in his to rule that out as a problem. When we put it in his car it fired right up, so thats not the problem. We also did this to the coil, and computer(again).

There was an alarm in this car, so I thought this might be the problem. I had it towed to an alarm shop and removed and I still have the same problem, so I had to have it towed back to my house. We checked the fusible links and they are all good.

I am getting .3 volts at the coil still. When I turn the key on the fuel pump does not kick on still! I can get the fuel pump to turn on by removing the relay and hot wiring it, so I know it's not a problem with the pump.

I have replaced(with brand new parts) the Ignition Switch, Fuel Pump Relay, MSD Blaster Coil, and all Fuses in the fuse box. I have tested and ruled out the ICM, Hall Effect Sensor, Distributor, Coil, Ignition Switch, Alarm, Fuel Pump Relay, Fusible Links.

I have followed these wires everywhere...I have found no loose connections, no shorts, and no wires being grounded out.

I have only had this damn car since 5-4-07, and its been down for more than half of that time.

I appreciate all of the help you guys have given me thanks a lot...let me know if you have any other ideas...because I am out of ideas.

The one last thing I am going to replace is the starter solenoid...eventhough everything else gets power past the solenoid.

again..have u ran codes to see if anything comes up? its a free check that only takes minutes to do. since your car doesnt run you'll only be able to run the key on engine off test and constant memory.
if u dont know how to do it, check this site: www.fordfuelinjection.com
its a start rather than checking every lil component on the car when the issue may just be a busted relay or sensor. you can save yourself some time.

Does it have petrol? Sorry for the dumb question but I've done it before.

What about your tps? What volts is that reading...don't know if that would even have shit to do with it but I guess if it is extreemly off maybe the car wouldn't start.

I can't believe your towing the car around town trying to fix it [Eek!] [Confused] [Frown]

you should have 12v on the coil .

it comes form the ignition switch through a 20 gauge ( dark blue) fusible link.

See if you have 12v at the ign switch, if so it;s probably the fuse link

I found the problem...it was the fusible link that give power to the coil...goes down to the fuel relay under the driver seat...which in turn powers the EEC relay...thanks for all of the help guys she runs like a freakin beast now!
