If you have plenty of cash go with a Carb Shop preped holley. Just tell them what you have.

I had an 830 annular HP on a built 302 with nitrous and it ran hard as hell too.
Afr headed 306 will love a 750hp especially if it is more than just naturally aspirated.

750 is overkill on a 306. the dyno will show no gain from a 650 to a 750 on a motor that small

I dont want to get into semantics but the general question was asked. It is very vague to say that the dyno will show no improvement.
750 allows room to grow.
I never bothered to run a 650 on my 306 but even going from the 750 to the 830 annular gained trap speed.
squared jets, nitrous application.
not dyno theory, track proof.

but if i remember correctly an annular booster carb flows less than its rated cfm ex:annular booster 650 will flow about 575cfm. i did a similar build to yours and ran a b.g. 650 race demon and a 750 race demon with these two particular carbs we didnt see any difference went to a quick fuel and picked up a little more trap speed.both carbs worked really well! just my .02

like i said I dont want to get into semantics.
I put my 2 cents in so take it for what it is worth.
I have had 306s and ran many many carbs on them at the TRACK and on the STREET, the best performer was the 750hp.
If you want to go with what works on the dyno then I guess uncle bill is the guru
I bow down.
Peace.

both demons i had wore the throttle shaft bushings prematurely.
not sure but I had a couple of other buddies that had the same issues.
I used the annular because I was a nitrous fiend and you are correct about the annulars and CFM.
shit....want to get technical milling the horn off of a non HP carb really wakes it up.
Bolt on and go with very little tuning and something you can call summit and have at your door the next day..........HP series holley...that is why they are markedly more money than anything else.
take care
once again my 2 cents.
