Im trying to figure out if my defroster switch is broken. Ive talked to a couple people and got two different answers. When I push in my rear defrost switch it doesnt stick like the headlamp switch does. The switch will just pop back into place.

Anyone with a foxbody and working rear defroster. Does your switch stick like the headlamp or does it pop back into place?

flipping it just puts the light on for me, the light goes out after a few minutes.

check the wiring for continuity from the back of the switch to the fuse, and from the fuse to the back window wiring.

Get some hot water and steam up the back window then flip the switch. If it defrosts then maybe the small light bulb in the switch is just out.

If your light comes on and it does not defrost them most likely there is a brake in the metal defost strips in the back. Look realllllly close at all the lines. They can be repaired.
