Recently I had a SLP X-pipe and SLP catback installed by my friends and the darn thing scrapes on almost everything that has a bump. We have tried adjusting it several times, but nothing helps, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I can do or if anyone has a hookup at an exhaust shop to see if maybe an additional hanger can be added somewhere.

Is your snake lowered at all?

Good luck getting more clearance [Roll Eyes]

Is it the X or the muffs or pipes hitting.

I had the same prob with the 5 piece Bassani X hanging low.

I switched to a upr x and that was much tighter to the underbody of the car but the MAC 3" still scrapes from time to time. [Frown]

edit: DOn't know if adding another hanger will work if only .5-1"

Also don't think you wana go welding stuff onto the CB or X if you wana sell later.....same as hacking up the X pipe.

When i did add the cats to the upr pipe i had my buddy weld mine even closer to the body to gain a few more cm's of space [Razz]

The car is stock height. It's scraping on the exhaust flange that connects the x pipe and the catback together. I was wondering if maybe I can find different exhaust flanges because the one's that come with it are big. [Confused]

Don't know how SLP's flanges are but can you rotate them so that the part of the flange where the bolts go through don't aim down.

I hope that makes some sense but that's how teh flanges are on the CB i have......i rotate them to gain as much clearance as possible....but i still catch them once in a while [Mad]

Also is the X pipe the modular style?

If so i'd look into the way you angle each piece and keep everything loose and slowly tighten and re-check and tighten and re-check etc.

Just take it to an exhaust shop and ask them to re-tighten everything. I was having a problem with low hanging X for a lil bit, took into a shop and they pushed up and tightend, all good now!

Your best bet is a muffler shop, bolt on stuff almost always never just bolts on just perfectly.

Yellow94GT never touched anyone's sig or banned anyone, so I'm going to quit spreading that rumor. It's not like I have any proof anyways. All yellow94gt and other mods have done is volunteer their time to help other people buy/sell parts, learn how to make their cars go faster and meet fellow enthusiasts. I'm a hater, but it's hard to hate on these facts. I have saved hunrdeds, maybe thousands of dollars here buying and selling parts over the years alone, but I don't care, this website owes me damnit, and I'll piss on it as much as I want. Us haters gonna hate. Why contribute to something when you can take for free?

Oh yeah, this isn't my website, so no one has to ask for my permission to change my sig. Hell, not like I pay the CAFORDS bill, so why should they need my permission to put what they want on their site? We're all guests here. Maybe some of us should start acting like guests or leave?

I have the same problem, my Bassani x-pipes w/ cats also scrapes on almost all bumps. Unless I really go over slow it will almost always scrape. I brought it back to the people that installed it and they can't do anything. I might try a muffler shop next. My cobra is not even lowered.
