Check for vacuum leaks. Look behind the throttle body, there are 2 vacuum lines there that get overlooked. Are you sure you had the spout connector out when setting the timing? Is there a capacitor on the alternator wiring? If not, that would cause some RFI interference.
Also, make sure that the ground wires are connected on the rear of the intake manifold and rear of the cylinder head(s). They are the O2 sensor grounds and can cause grief.

also there is no check engine light on. do you think it could be like a cracked vac.....like the cheap ones ford uses on the older cars. the truck also wont rev past like 4 to 4.5k and makes like no power.

any other ideas guys??? please thanks

The vacuum should be 16+" at idle. The timing is 10 degrees just like a Mustang. The capacitor looks just like one from an old points type distributor. It would be mounted to the back/top of the alt. or on the fenderwell, I can't remember.

The lack of power could be a shitload of different things, plugged fuel or air filter, plugged cats, wrong timing, etc. Go over the basics first.
