my car seems to lose rpms when im cruising in gear. itll start by losing rpms then slow to a crawl.

if i release the pedal when its on the floor the gear will grab and itll be norm again.say i go to start my car from neutral to 1st is impossible.I also hear some type of noise when it starts to slip.

when car is off all gears can be shifted into.

Also when car is running i cant even get into 1st gear. car must be started in gear.

any help is appreciated

sounds like the clutch cable is not adjusted right or something related has broken or worn out.

check the quadrent, the cable, the plug at the firewall, and where the cable grabs the pivot fork in the side of the bellhousing.

what kind of quadrent and cable do you have? Anything aftermarket?

I'm guessing a stretched clutch cable.

If you hear a creaking sound, you may have a cracked plastic quadrant also.

it engages damn near not even 4 inches from being released from the floor. it does kinda creak too.

Do it yourself it's easy and while you're at it replace the quadrant with an aluminum piece.

The pedal will feel more solid and you can adjust the engagement to your liking.

Costs like $40-$100 depending on what brand you choose.
