when i bought my 88 GT it still had the stock exhaust. factory headers, and h pipe with factory mufflers. the pipes was cut right after the mufflers and have turndowns.
im looking to run some shorty headers (ceramic), x pipe, and flowmaster mufflers. i want my exhaust to be smog legal. so running an o/r h pipe is out.
Also for the exit will LX tips work on a GT?? any advice is appreciated.

I would go with an h-pipe they make smog legal ones. I also know where you can get high flow cats that you can have welded on the h-pipe to make it smog legal, but that's up to you. Also lx tail pipes will fit with the gt bumper you just have to customize it a lil to have the pipe point down a lil more

Bbk,bassani, and mac are all good choices, if your not worries about money issues I would definently go with bassani, but if your like me mac is the choice I would make it also is good product. Your right about the X and H pipe hp gains but in my opinion H pipe sounds way better.
