i am looking for a clutch that will take a beating racing. something that will handle slicks maybe.

to add, it depends on how much power you are making, yes, but also how much the car weighs and what you intend to do with it. you can get a clutch that grips like crazy when engaged, but will drive you nuts driving in stop and go and will chatter forever.
