okay i know i should take the heads to the machine shop cus i had my head gasket blown.
but i didnt over heat just blown cus of vortech install.being mustangs have iron heads should i bring it to the machine shop? i know with aluminum heads but not sure with cast iron.

well if yes anybody knows of any good machine shop in the eastbay,closer to hercules wwould be good.

I would say "yes". Bring them to a machine shop and have them surfaced.

G&l machine next to pick&pull in richmond on market,they worked on my holley heads,,,BUT this seems like a perfect time to upgrade to alum. heads.plus i know someone that will buy your gt-40 heads if your interested. [Wink]

don't take them to a machine shop bro, save some $$ and do it yourself. use a straightedge and feeler gauges across the deck surface of the heads to check for warpage, etc.

unless you have the $$ to spend . . .

thanks guys i dont think the heads are warped.i think the gasket blew cus of hi mileage and too much boost without tunning.ill check for warpage
and if i dont see anything ill just throw it back in.thanks for all the relies.

take em. most shops should only charge 10-20 to check em..its worth it i tihnk

take them and have them surfaced. Is it worth putting them back on and then having to take them back off because you wanted to save $50?
