what are the benifits of these? I have an 88 lx, and i want to put a set of M/T 275/60/15 DR's mounted on 15x8 draglites with 5.5 inch BS. Do i need to remove these to fit that tire? What is the adverse effect of doing so???

they help control wheelhop

if you take them off to fit the tire you'll just need to replace your rear lower control arms to help in controlling wheelhop

No guarantees you will not have wheelhop when you get afetrmarket control arms.

My 87GT was fine with megabite jrs and hopped like a mofo with BBK Uppers/Lowers until I put the quads back on.

Just give it a try, see what happens, and address the issues as they come...

Take off your quad shocks, flim them around so the skinny part points towards the back of the car and see if your tires clear. If they don't, just remove the quad shocks. They mostly just help reduce wheel hop when taking off hard on radial tires.
