I just picked up a 88 GMC truck with a 350 in it. Sometimes when I am sitting at a light the truck just dies. It doesnt surge at all just dies. It also does it sometimes when I am shifting in to reverse or drive like when I am backing out of a parking spot. I plan on doing a minor tune up tonight (plugs, air filter, fuel filter, wires, pcv). Anyone have and ideas what would cause it to just die like that. When I am driving it has no problems. Could it be the fuel pump starting to go out or just a idle issue?

I'd do your tune up with all listed first and see if that does not clear up the issue. I was thinking fuel filter, so we'll see. Maybe toss in a bottle of fuel system cleaner in with a full tank as well once the tune up is done.

I bought the cleaner also. I will see if the tune up helps.
