ok, so my car used to be an aod. I still have the stock computer. is it worth getting a new computer? if so which one should i get? is it a simple as unbolting the old one and bolting the new one in place or is there any change of wiring and electrical work that's gonna take place.
Thanks.

Jersey,

It is really easy to swap out computer. Basically plug and play. 7mm or 8mm bolt(it is green) that is screwed into the bottom of the plastic bracket that holds the computer in place. ONce you have that off you can slide the computer down towards the floor pan. Then use 10mm 0r 11mm(can't remember) to unscrew the harness from the computer. That is it and reverse order to plug the new one in.

However I have been told you can use the AOD computer to do the T-5 conversion. Look at the computer before you remove it and post the type it is. A9L, A9T, A9M, etc. That will tell us what kind of computer it is. Sometime there is a small sticker in the door jam close to the computer that can tell you what you have without removing the kick panel. But the best way is to remove the kick panel and look.
