I was going to order a bbk cai setup from summit today, but they said it was not CARB approved. What recommendations do you have for a cai unit and does it really matter if it is CARB approved? I have only lived in Ca for 4 years so I am still getting used to what you can and can't do out here.

really they aren't CARB approved? My catalog says they are and i still need to buy one.

I'm not sure of the CARB certification but I would suggest NOT buying the BBK CAI. It is one of the worst on the market.
If you have are making 300rwhp or less I would suggest running the stock airbox with the silencer removed and a drop in K&N filter.

I made 315rwhp and 328rwtq, ran 11.90 at 115mph w/ the stock box and K&N naturally aspirated. The stock system IS a cold-air system.

check out AEM and K&N kits. these are the only 2 kits that i know that have carb#s. check their websites if they have kits for your mustang.

Got mine from JLT and it kicks ass!! I doubt its smog legal but it has been proven to make 8-10rwhp and 15rwtq bone stock.
