I have a 89 coupe that was swapped into a 5.0. The crossmember on the car now is still the same one as the 4 banger one so my exhaust hangs pretty low on stock suspension because it only has one groove....I have a crossmember out of another 5.0 but the ends where the crossmember bolts on to the torque box is a little longer so it wont fit.....how can I go about fixing the problem so I can put the new crossmember on??? Should I just take it to a welding shop, cut off the ends of the new crosssmember and get it welded on??? Or is there one that I have to look for that'll fit on the 4 banger chassis??? Someone please help!!

I thought the mounting points for the trans crossmember were all the same no matter if it's a V8 or 4 cylinder...
Maybe someone that's done the swap will chime in...

thats what I would assume too, but when you look at it the crossmember off the 5.0 extends a little bit more on the ends where it bolts onto the torque box
