I'm going to be shopping for tires in about a month or so....car is a 92 lx 5spd all stock w/3.73 so im looking for something a little better than average...Currently the car has a 245-40 17 on a 17x9 out back, that were on the car when i bought it. When i get on it off the line it spins like crazy thru 1st and 2nd ( i think the tires are old n hard). Tires are Goodyear Eagle F1...Any recommendations on a tire.....

you can fit a 275 on that rim, what is your back spacing on your rims? I have 285/35/18s in the back of my fox with no rubbing, however I had to roll the fender lip and hammer down some of the inner well. A 275 would be easier than my 285. It is basically limited if you have the wrong backspacing and your mechanical ability.

is this a daily driver...cuz to be honest, there really is nothing that you can get for a daily driver that you'll be happy with.
drag radials are ok, and now mickey thompson has the et street radial which is damn good. but only gonna last you a year tops. thats if you keep it under 12k and about 5 trips to the strip.

The car is a daily driver...I was thinking some nitto 555 or DR...it has some 2" drop springs that i want to take off because the ride is rough....would putting in the stock springs help a little?I drive about 12-15k miles a year...anyone know how long nitto DRs last and do they hook decent for a stock 5.0 w/ 3.73s? Ohh ya i dont know the backspacing to them either...

I had 285/40/17 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s (17x9 wheel) and they hooked pretty hard on my h/c/i motor. You need more tire on a rim that wide. With a 245, you might not even be putting down the whole tread pattern down because it has to stretch across a 9" wheel.

i would go w/ the mickey drag radials.
they hook like a mother.
you could drive on them year round and make a few trips to the track and last maybe year and a half. depends how hard you do burnouts.
and they hook on the street w/ no burnout and a mild launch...under 3k
i drove on et streets all year long w/ 4.10's and 100 shot.
and everyone i know w/ lowered cars can't fit 26 x 10's or 26 x 10.5's

the nittos hook worse than regular tires when they're cold. but once you drive around or do a burnout they are ok. they are the only drag radials i'd recommend for a daily driver. you can get 12-15k miles out of them. you'd be lucky to get 5k out of the bfg and mickeys

THE NEW MICKEY DRAG RADIALS ARE BAD AZZ BUT SO ARE THE NITTOS 555R THEY GRIP LIKE CRAZY...ID GET THE FATEST JUMP ON HELLA PEOPLE...CHECK THEM OUT THEY LOOK HELLA NICE TOO
