Go out into an empty parking lot and drive in tight figure eights, this will free up any clutch plates that are sticking. You might need a Trac-Loc rebuild, which is not very expensive and you don't have to change axles if you don't want to.

Maybe I missed something...How old is your stock 8.8 differential?...If you have a high milege trac lok in your 8.8, then you can do all the figure 8's you want it ain't gonna help...Actually driving in tight figure 8's will actually make a bad diff worse...

Go buy a new diff or have your stock trac lok clutches replaced.... [patriot]

Mine is like that too. I bought a clutch kit, S spring, and pin from www.mustangwarehouse.com . All the stuff only cost me like $60.

Just buy the $40 kit to rebuild the traction lock, and when you pack the clutches add additional clutches. The ford packing order is like c-s-s-c-s-s-c, pack it c-s-c-s-c-s-c. Use your best looking old clucth and slap it in there. This will make it a little bit stronger than stock which should hold up for you just fine.
