I am not sure what this condition is called, but recently I have had to turn the ignition key down longer to get the ignition sparked up and working. I usually turn and hold it about 1 -1.5 seconds but on warmer days or at night when I have driven it awhile I need to hold it 4 seconds long. I have changed to a new 190 lph fuel pump, new Kirban afpr(41 psi vacuum off) to rule out any fuel problems, and I upgraded to an MSD coil and MSD wires, and new distributor stator/halls effect sensor, and it still happens occassionally. Any tips on what to do next?

Is this only after you've been driving and then restart the car? Heat-soaked the starter?

is that what that is

my car will do that if i have been driving for a while

I changed starter, solenoid and my cables are good..

I changed that stuff a few months ago.

Usually it starts right up, but you can tell when the engine is hot it hesitates.. like it turns, then turns one more, then one more and it starts. But this is a slower process, and kind of embarassing at the gas station. [Frown]
