Get the pair that has the "C" shaped teeth pattern on it. I took out stripped head bolts with those things.

thats a good idea, her dad came by and said he's gonna try and tap a hole in the bolt head and use an easy out to get it out. hopefully for her sake, it works! thanks guys!

Well if vise grips aren't doing the trick than they are not tight enough. Crank them down tight so that you can barely get them closed on the bolt. If that fails you can always try and hammer on a 12 point socket of the right size. Something thats close to going on but tight enough to need to be driven on with a hammer. Don't hit it so hard that the pan dents in.

man, there's barely enough room to fart down there, I know that my vise grips may not be the best quality, so I may have an excuse to buy a new tool/s tomorrow

Do yourself a favor and go buy a new drain plug , throw the old one away when you do get it out. Ive never seen one that good vicegrips wont get. make sure your turning it the correct direction. Remember you are upside down now. righty tighty lefty loosey
