i cant figure out what is wrong with my car its a 85 gt with e-303, stock heads, bolt ons, exhaust, and it keeps backfiring i did a tune up, timing and still back fires starts up good but when driving backfires 2-3 times and starts going very slow need help asap thanks ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

loud back fire or a lean pop?
Could it be that the distriburator is off one tooth?
I remember I had that problem once. It was off by a tooth only screwed up when the timing advanced.

Just check to make sure the distriburator is installed properly.
Does it back backfire when you gun it and then just crawl. (thats what mine did when it was off a tooth)

it starts up fine normal but when you rev it, it back fires or when driving, it backfires then takes off very slow

Try the simple things first, timing, also make sure that all your plug wire are wired correctly from the cap and going to the correct plug if you have had them off.

i already checked timing rewired the plug wires did top dead center changed plugs
