i just bought an engine off a friend of mine an installed it in a 88 gt but the engine's performance is not even close to how it was on my friend's car. my car runs like crap. engine is a 302 alum.heads,trick flow upper and lower,headers,the fuel rails,msd dist,chip,75MM Throttle body.
NEED HELP.....

You need to be more specific. Name your whole combo. What -lb injectors are you running?

What fuel pressure? What year is your car? MAF or speed-density? Gears? Stuttering idle? [Confused] [Confused]

its an 88gt with stock gears,30lb injectors,fuel pressure 15psi,high performance maf calibrated for those injectors . when the car is turned on, it sounds like it wants to turn off again.

no stock gears?
15 psi i'm surprised the thing even turns on that psi needs to be at like 38 with the vacuum disconnected.
a maf that is calibrated for 30's is required.....

yeah the gears are gonna kill that car since it wants to be revved higher then stock

and yes, if the fuel pressure is actually at 15psi, then it is running so lean that it will almost not run

turn the fuel pressure to about 36psi without the vacuum line connected and go from there

where is the timing set at [Confused]

my car doesn't have a high performance fuel pump could that be it?????
