Topic: Doing Suspension on car and need help?????

ok i know that its been asked before but i need help on choosing suspension. im looking on doing the suspension on my car. my car is a daily driver so i need something that will not affect that, i got to the track like 2 times a month and want something to help me on the street and the track i want to buy shocks and control arms.so what is a good combo?? my car is a 2002 gt with just bolt-ons thanx for the help guys

How much are you willing to spend?....
Do you have sub frame connectors already?...

What is the purpose of doing your suspension? Are you looking for better 60' or better handling? What tires do you currently run at the track?

i think that lower control arms will help u a lot, that;s my next mod, and i'm going with bbk heavy duty control arms.

Sure you can. Some components do help both while others help only one and compromise the other. I can't make any suggestions until I know.

im running bfg drag radials wll im trying to improve my 60ft with ou sacraficing the hnding that much no i dont have sub frame conectors and im looking at like $1000 on suspension.

Tokico 5ways, MM full length subs, MM LCA's and some FMS HD UCA's....I'd get an Eibach Pro-kit becuase it lowers your car, gives a nice ride and they're not too stiff for good weight transfer for your 60ft times.... ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

Do what I did - find someone selling a used Griggs suspension, buy it, let it sit in your garage for 2 years or so to properly "age" then put off installing it until after I fix my damn header leak.
You can't really go wrong with sub frame connectors. I've been really happy with stock lower arms in the rear with poly bushings. I've got a tubular K-member and A-arms in front with coilovers. As the phrase goes - "they are choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend it."
I run the Tokico 5-ways as well and they replaced my Bilsteins (sitting in the garage taking up space). The adjustability is nice as you can go from "track" to "street" to "drag" at the flick of a really tiny screwdriver. I also ditched my quad shocks a long time ago. I found that one of the most noticable improvements for "feel" was the addition of a "g-load brace". With the stock K member, it's a nice improvement in "tightness" of the front end.
Also keep in mind that anything that removes weight from the car, especially over the nose, will improve handling and 60' times. I'm a big fan of battery relocation for this reason.

Subframe connectors are a MUST. Also get your torque boxes welded and a set of slicks. Those are the most important items.

hey, wanna buy a complete QA1 coil over kit...complete with camber caster plates, k-member, adjustable front struts, adjustable rear shocks...anyway, the kit is on my car..a 97 gt...it is meant more for street racing than corner carving..and i dont like having to adjust my setup for different situations...too old for that crap anyway, going to install a bilstein kit...mine only had 3000 miles on it...
