Just want to know if 295's would be too much on a 9" rim. found some Nitto NT-555 Extreme ZR Radials 295/35/18's.

How would these compare to the DR's?

A 9" rim will barely accept a 275mm tire so no bigger than that.

I have 295/35's on my 18x9's. They look good too, they don't stick out or anything, I had to roll the lip on my cobra(95) though.

It's not that they won't physically fit the wheel its that you end up with the wrong ratio of tire verses rim which usually cause the tire to bulge at the edges. Makes the car dance side to side a little more than what you might see with the right width.

What do you mean dance side to side? Make the car not handle as well? [Confused]

A 285 would fit on a 9" wide wheel, but a 295 is better suited for a 10" wide wheel...

Here is Nittos recommended wheel sizes for their NT555R-drag radials...(notice no 295-35-18's)

P245/45 R17 7.5-(8.0)-9.0
P275/40 R17 9.0-(9.5)-11.0
315/35 R17 (10.5)-12.0
285/35 ZR18 9.5-(10.0)-11.0
305/45 R18 9.5-(10.0)-11.5
*305/35 ZR18 10.0-(11.0)-12.0

I've got 285s on a set of 17x9 03 Cobras. They fit great.
