I am interested in getting Flowmaster exhuast and dumps on my 95 GT. How loud is it inside the car? would i have to turn the stereo way up to hear it? Would i get the deep exhuast noise from them?

if you want my honest opinion it will give you:
headaches attract cop attention extra tickets drone's real bad at certain rpms (2100 ish)
but I'm sure you'll do it anyways. good luck!

I've got a 90 LX with 2 chambers and a high flow x pipe. Originally I had the pipes going out the back and the 2K drone was pretty loud. Fortunatly for me I love that sound so I never got sick of it. Then curiosity got the better of me and I got dumps. On the whole, they made the car WAY quieter! I was surprised. Below about 1100 or 1200 rpm the sound is much deeper and sets off car alarms, but above that, the noise practically disappears unless the car is under WOT. Sooner or later I'll get that O/R x pipe I've been wanting and it will be loud throughout the rpm range...

In my experience Iv'e never gotten headaches from it, never been harrased by cops (even when next to one at a stoplight) Havent gotten any tickets either. I will agree with you on the drone however... its at about 2100 ish, but I put up with it, because I love how it sounds when im just putting around at the lower rpm range. I originally did it because I couldnt afford a brand new cat-back system, and didnt want to wait to buy one, either. just my .02

I have two chamber flows with dumps. Its pretty loud inside the car, going up hill is the worst. I think of an old truck with no mufflers when I am on hills. Otherwise they sound great I like the freeway sound and when I floor it Im to cold. Enjoy them I do

I've got 3 chamber flows with an O/R x-pipe and its pretty damn loud and I think I've got that sound you're looking for. I'm about to hop in the shower, but when I'm done, I'll get some audio of the car at idle and then I'll throw some revs in for you so you can see what it sounds like. Granted it'll sound a little different because I've got h/c/i combo and a lumpy cam, but you'll get the idea.

Hang on... I can't do it in my condo because the people that live above my garage are home and they don't like my car to say the least. I'll hit the road and try to find some place where I can let 'er rip without many people being around.

i had dumps with flows and a off road h and it did set off a hell of a lot of car alarms but the drone was killer(the interior of the car would shake). i just got annoyed after a while, plus i wanted my tail pipes back on to go with my body kit. it did sound sick and the interior car level was damn loud, you will need to turn up your music. youll still set off plenty of car alarms without the dumps though [ April 15, 2004, 03:00 PM: Message edited by: Sicc98GT ]

I used to run dumps on my stock motor with an o/r h and shorties. But with my new combo it was WAY too loud in the car. If you dont have a h/c/i car you could probably live with it. If your looking for a dumped setup I have one for sale. 2 1/2inch flowtubes, cutouts, 2 chamber flows, and a dump after that. If your interested email me. Bassman180@aol.com

how high on the stereo did you turn the volume up to? way past half way point on a stock stereo?
