Well, this is on a '91 GT right? Ford has built into the computer a little trick. When you have the gas pedal floored, and you start the car, the computer goes into "flood" mode, and doesn't fire the injectors because it thinks the engine is flooded. So, going by that, I'd have to wonder if maybe the problem isn't spark related but fuel related.

I'd assume your not getting any check engine codes? Have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it yet? Seems strange. I wonder if the distribor is having trouble sending a PIP signal to the ECM. Is there an aftermarket ignition on the car?

That would be my guess as to whats wrong than. Too many times have I seen morons at an alarm shop tap into stuff they should not for the alarm. Just because it's disabled doesn't mean its not causing a problem still. Was it right after the alarm went in?

the wierd thing is this morning I started the car and warm it up for couple minute then took for a short cruise. it ran fine. got home shut her off. waited for a short time and try to start her up and it started fine. so decided to change the plugs to autolite 3923 gap @ .o35. all the plugs has little tiny white dots on them except #1 plug. it was black like it was running rich. all other was white/brownish tip on porcelian. after the plug changed took her for another short run then came home , shut it off then started it up and it was fine. BY the way have put a high torque small starter in it about 2 months ago.

Do a compression check on that hole. You might not have any compression in it and thats why the spark plug shows its fat.

The other issue might be that the injector on that hole is stuck open or not functioning properly
